Backpack/School Drive and Crisis Care Packing Event

Crisis Care Kits have become one of the biggest charitable opportunities of the year in the VOC. For the past six years the VOC Nazarene Church has facilitated the bulk purchase and packing of essential hygiene products for disaster victims.

The kit items are usually bagged and shipped in May, arriving in time to help people during the summer/fall disaster season. Recipients aren’t qualified by religion, nationality, economic status, race, or any other criteria, only need. This year we have been delayed by manufacturing and shipping shutdowns due to CV-19.

At last, the product is prepped and we’re ready to assemble the kits. They will be bagged and boxed this Saturday, July 25th from 8:30am – 12:30pm. A free lunch will be served when the packing is completed.

To volunteer, contact Pastor Jim at or call 928-284-0015 and leave a message.

Kids in our community need a great education, whether we have a local school or not. Many VOC students are living below the poverty line, and some families are struggling to provide even the necessities. This leaves some unable to start the new school year with the supplies necessary to succeed.

VOC Church of the Nazarene is sponsoring a backpack and school supply collection – you will find collection bins at Clark’s Market, Desert Flour Bakery and Classic Curls salon (Bell Rock Plaza), Friday July 10th - Sunday, August 2nd.

A backpack
outfitted with supplies averages $75. The goal is to provide 75, costing over $5,600. Because we buy in bulk, your donation go further and enables us to help more kids. Cash or checks can be dropped at any of the above locations, or mail to:
     VOC Church of the Nazarene
55 Rojo Drive, Sedona, AZ 86351
*The memo line should read “Back 2 School” and the check payable to “VOC Nazarene”
Contact Pastor Jim (702-810-4048) to arrange pickup of your donations or cash contribution.

K-12 students from the VOC are invited to receive FREE backpacks and school supplies Sunday, August 2nd and Sunday August 9th, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, at the VOC Church of the Nazarene, 55 Rojo Drive, 86351. There will be free food and drinks.
