7 18 25 AZ State Transportation Board Meeting

Volunteers Needed to Attend AZ State Transportation Board Meeting –

The State Transportation Board is meeting in Flagstaff at the Flagstaff City Hall on July 18, 2025, at 9AM.
The ADOT 5-year construction plan will be discussed.  –

Big Park Council is concerned that the current traffic interchange (TI) at Exit 298 (Jct. I17/SR179) is extremely dangerous.  This traffic interchange (TI) has been the scene of several serious crashes and incidents, the most recent a truck fire. The Annual Average Daily Traffic is 6700 vehicles per day. This TI is one of the last of the original TI’s on I-17 that has not been modernized.

Modernizing this interchange is NOT on ADOT’s Five Year Construction Program and Big Park Council feels that it should be. The best way to get the attention of the AZ State Transporation Board is to have several people at this next Board meeting to advocate for the project.  Note that this is the last meeting this calendar year that is anywhere near us in the Village to attend.

Please help!  Volunteers are needed to attend the next State Transportation Board meeting to advocate for a new traffic interchange replacing the existing one at Exit 298 (Jct. I17/SR179).

Dave Norton has volunteered to drive to the meeting.

Please let Dave know if you are willing to go and help by advising the Board and ADOT staff of this crucial community need.  E Mail Dave at DNSedona@gmail.com if you are able to go.   The ability to attend this meeting in person has been confirmed with the AZ Transportation Board.

It is also possible to attend the July 18 meeting of the Arizona State Transportation Board electronically.  The link information below is copied from the AZ State Transportation Board website.
